The Importance of Treating Elders with Respect. Seniors have plenty of experience in life and they can teach us about enduring change and handling life’s challenges. We must treat our elders with respect, even if their bodies or minds are beginning to fail them.
What will happen without respect?
What Happens in the Absence of Respect? Contempt and humiliation are the absence of respect, as are a sense of being unheard or not understood. The absence of respect or a perceived lack of respect often leads to conflict at an individual, family and societal level.
Does everyone deserve respect?
Unless you are intentionally causing harm or hurting other people in some way, you are worthy and deserving of respect. You are free to believe as you want to believe, to worship as you want to worship, to love as you want to love, to be who you are. As such, you deserve respect. As such, EVERYONE deserves respect.
What is a lack of respect?
Disrespectful words and actions are rude and show a lack of respect. If you want to “dis” someone, be disrespectful towards them. Disrespectful behavior can range from blatant rudeness to just not acting impressed or awed by something others hold sacred.
Can there be love without respect?
While love is certainly important, respect is even more so. In fact, without respect from your partner there can be no real love. You can have respect for someone you don’t even like all that much if they do something that you can see is difficult for them. That said, you can love someone but not respect them.
